  • Free survey, and you get the findings either way
  • A fixed written price before anything is booked
  • The whole job, or an honest no, never a patch

What we do

Roofs, rooflines and the details that leak

Slate and tile, flat roofs, lead work and roofline. We take on the job that solves the problem rather than the one that postpones it. If a repair genuinely is the right answer, that is what we will quote you for.

Re‑roofing & new roofs

A full strip and rebuild when patching has stopped working. Slate, plain tile or concrete tile, with new felt, new battens and the flashings done properly rather than sealed over.

Repairs & leaks

Slipped or missing tiles, storm damage, or a leak nobody has been able to trace. We find where the water is getting in before we quote for anything.

Flat roofs

Extensions, garages, dormers and bay roofs. A modern flat roof system laid onto a sound deck, not another layer over one that has already failed.

Fascias, soffits & guttering

Full roofline replacement, so rainwater ends up down the drain instead of down the wall, and there is nothing left up there to repaint.

Chimneys & lead work

Repointing, rebuilds, flashings, valleys and lead soakers. These details cause most of the leaks we get called out to look at.

Skylights & maintenance

Skylight and rooflight installation, plus moss removal and gutter clearing, the cheap work that keeps a sound roof sound.

Six questions, about a minute. No obligation and no sales calls.

Why it matters who comes out

What twenty years actually changes

Not the price. What changes is how quickly someone works out what is really going on up there, which is the whole job.

01

We find the cause, not the symptom

A damp patch in the corner of a bedroom is almost never a hole directly above the corner of that bedroom. Water runs sideways along battens and rafters before it shows. Twenty years of roofs means knowing where to look, so you get the repair that stops it rather than the one that should have.

02

We price the whole job, in writing

Materials, labour, access and clearing up, itemised, before anything is booked in. If something turns up once the tiles are off, we show you and explain it. The price does not quietly move because the scaffold is already up.

03

We tell you when you don’t need us

Sometimes the honest answer is a morning’s repointing, not a new roof. We would rather say so and be the people you ring in five years than sell you a roof you did not need today.

Know what you are comparing

Two ways a roofing quote goes wrong

You will usually get two kinds. One from someone who will patch it cheap and be unreachable by the second winter. One from a national outfit who send a salesman, sit in your kitchen for two hours, and price in a head office you will never visit. Both are pricing the job they would like to sell you. Neither of them started by finding out what is wrong.

The quote you usually get

  • Priced from the ground, or off a photo
  • A patch over a roof that has already failed
  • Quoted by a salesman on commission
  • A “sign today” discount with a deadline on it
  • The price moves once work has started
  • Subcontractors you meet on the morning

Three Oaks Roofing

  • Priced after someone has been up and looked
  • The job that fixes the cause, or an honest no
  • Quoted by a roofer, and you keep the findings
  • No deadlines and no discount games
  • A fixed written price that does not move
  • The same team from survey to clear‑up

What customers say

Six homeowners, in their own words

Given to Ali directly after the work was finished, by text, email and card.

“Two other roofers couldn’t find it”

We had a leak above the back bedroom for months and two other roofers couldn’t find it. Ali found it in about twenty minutes: a cracked lead flashing round the chimney. Fixed the same week for a great price. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Dale SNorthampton

“The only ones who went up and showed us photos”

Got three quotes and Three Oaks weren’t the cheapest, but they were the only ones who went up and showed us photos of what was actually wrong. Price was fair and exactly what we were quoted, no surprises at the end.

Lauren KKettering

“Sent photos before and after”

Had a chimney repointed and the lead redone. Ali sent photos before and after so I could see what had been done, which I really appreciated as I can’t get up there myself. Honest, friendly and good value.

John BOundle

“They cleared up every evening before they left”

Full re‑roof on our 1930s semi. Ali and the team were so friendly and polite the whole time, and they cleared up every evening before they left. The kids loved watching them work. The finished roof looks brilliant.

Shelley LWellingborough

“More patch than roof”

Our garage flat roof had been patched so many times it was more patch than roof. Ali replaced it with a new rubber roof in two days. Really tidy job and a great price. Will be using them for the house roof next year.

Tom MCorby

“Neighbours have already asked for their number”

New fascias, soffits and guttering all round. The team were friendly, on time every day and left the garden spotless. Neighbours have already asked for their number.

What happens after you tap the button

1

Six questions, about a minute

What the job is, what has prompted it, how soon you need it and where you are. No measurements and no documents.

2

One call to arrange the survey

At a time that suits you. Evening or weekend is fine, just say so when we ring.

3

We come out and get up there

A proper look, not a glance from the drive. You get told what we found, with photos of the parts you cannot see from the ground.

4

A fixed written price. Then it is yours

Take as long as you like over it. If you decide against it, that is a normal outcome and we will not ring you about it again.

Who turns up

A roofer prices it, not a salesman

Nobody is paid commission to sit in your kitchen. Ali Oakenfull, the owner, is the person who comes out to look at your roof, and the person who will be working on it. That is the only reliable way of getting a price that matches the job.

  • Ali is your one point of contact, from the survey to the clear‑up
  • Twenty years on Northamptonshire roofs, not a franchise
  • If it does not need doing, we will say so

Before you pay anything

What the free survey actually gets you

Booking it commits you to nothing at all. Here is what you walk away with, whether or not you ever use us.

  • Someone up on the roofNot a look from the pavement and not a drive‑by estimate. If it needs a ladder or a drone to see it properly, that is what happens.
  • What we actually foundExplained in plain English, with photos of the bits you cannot see, so you understand the problem before anyone talks about money.
  • An itemised written priceMaterials, labour, access and clearing up shown separately, so you can compare it properly against anybody else’s quote.
  • A decision that stays yoursOne call to book the survey, one to talk through the price. After that the next move is yours and only yours.

Six questions, about a minute. No obligation and no sales calls.

Common questions

The things people ask before they book

How much is this going to cost?

It depends on the size of the roof, what is actually wrong with it, and how you want it finished. Anyone who gives you a figure over the phone is guessing, and a guess is not something you can hold them to. You get a free survey, then a fixed written price, and that price is the one you pay.

Will I get chased with sales calls?

No. One call to arrange the survey, and one to talk you through the price. If you decide against it, we do not ring you again about it.

Do I need to be in for the survey?

It helps, because it is far easier to explain what we found while we are both standing there looking at it. If that is difficult, we can survey it, send the findings and photos through, and go over it on the phone instead.

Water is coming in now. How fast can you get here?

Mark it as urgent in the form and it goes to the front of the queue. A temporary cover to stop water getting in is usually possible a good deal sooner than the full repair, and we will tell you straight which of the two you need first.

What areas do you cover?

Northampton and the surrounding Northamptonshire area. Put your postcode into the form and we will confirm we come to you before we go any further.

Are you insured?

Yes, we’re insured, and we’ll send you a copy of our certificate before any work starts, so you can check the cover yourself rather than take our word for it.

How long have you been doing this?

Over twenty years working on roofs across Northamptonshire, which is roughly twice as long as most of the firms whose ads you will have clicked on today.

Find out what your roof actually needs

Six questions, about a minute, and a free survey booked in at a time that suits you. No obligation, and no sales calls afterwards.

Worth knowing: water in a roof travels sideways, and the repair gets bigger the longer it runs.
